Each month Project Wait No Longer offers updates and insights through its very popular newsletter. You can sign up to receive it directly in your good old fashioned U.S.P.S. mailbox by emailing Anna Beers at email@example.com, or, you can now find it in the Barker Blog, clicking here, or on the image.
Our training series PRIDE After Placement is back for 2016! Many families walk away from the PRIDE classes feeling ready to face parenting. 6 – 12 months later, you are placed with a child or sibling group and suddenly, things don’t seem as clear. Parenting kids with a history of trauma can be hard. Harder than you imagined, and this can make it difficult to remember all of the tools that you learned during PRIDE.
This training has been specifically designed for families whose children have been placed, and are experiencing the realities of placement. This will be an opportunity to process family challenges, triumphs and perspectives with other adoptive families who are also actively parenting children with a history of trauma.
To RSVP please e-mail Anna Beers at: firstname.lastname@example.org
(Please note that dinner will be provided and childcare is available upon request.)
