Thanks to the support of the Barker community, 30 infants and toddlers in GuangXi Province, China, no longer have to sleep on mats the floor.
Barker friends and families raised funds to purchase 30 new cribs, bedding, and mattresses so the children will now have a warm, safe place to sleep.
The Barker Adoption Foundation went out to the ballgame on Sunday, June 7, for the third annual “Barker Goes Nats!” event. Barker received the Washington National’s Spirit Award and hosted a celebratory event for over 300 Barker friends and families. Absolutely a winning day for Barker, if not for the Nats!

This year on May 3, 2014 the George Mason University Department of Social Work is hosting the 6th Annual College Dream Tour. The event targets youth between the ages of 11-15 who would otherwise not consider going to college. It is a goal to promote dropout prevention and to encourage youth to develop aspirations to one day go to college. Over a hundred students and their parents, guardians, mentors, teachers and social workers will attend the event.
