At The Barker Adoption Foundation, we understand that an unexpected pregnancy can have an impact on extended family members and that they may need support and counseling during this time as well.
If you are beginning the research on behalf of a loved one who is experiencing a crisis pregnancy, and this loved one lives in Maryland, Washington, D.C. or Virginia, we can help as we've helped many family members and close family friends guide those they love through the decisions ahead. We have provided ethical adoption services for more than 70 years, including supporting birth parents, adoptees, adoptive parents, and all those who are touched by an adoption in the family.
Our pregnancy counselors are available 24/7 at 1-888-731-6601 to receive calls from those who wish to learn more about adoption. Our counselors can meet a client, with or without other family members, to begin a conversation about how adoption works today and the rights and options that are available to expectant and birth parents.
We offer a list of recommended readings for extended family members and encourage family members to attend Barker’s annual conference on adoption, one of many services that Barker provides.
