Event Description

DID YOU KNOW THAT FOSTER CARE CHILDREN MAY BE ADOPTED BY FAMILIES OUT OF STATE?

Interstate adoption is a necessary service that helps address the need of children languishing in the foster care system. However, despite this great need, not many agencies offer the service and very few really understand how. A lack of understanding creates delays and negatively impacts the ability of children to achieve timely permanency. We recognize that increased fluency and competency will have a great impact on locating permanent homes for children.

Join Saara Mceachnie, Barker's Domestic Adoption Director and Eileen Wharton, Barker's Child Matching & Family Support Specialist, Project Wait No Longer on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from 1 to 2 PM EDT for this online training for caseworkers!

This training will offer the simple how-to’s for completing these types of adoptions and effectively creating partnerships between public and private agencies.
