How can your child take their differences and use them as strengths?
Register your child for Barker's one-week program: Building Resiliency in Adopted Children!
Virtual Workshops for children 8 to 12 years of age. Monday, August 9 to Friday, August 13 from 5 to 6 PM
This workshop aims to equip adopted children with tools to recognize their negative bias, combat it, highlight their individual strengths, and connect them to other adoptees because we know a community is essential to flourishing!
More About This Workshop
Serving as "part two" of March's six-week virtual program: "Mindful Movement for Children: Discovering How to Navigate Through Worry & Anxiety," Missy Herendeen, LMSW/LGSW Barker's adoption competent therapist, and registered yoga teacher, will help children ages 8 to 12 years old learn how to use their unique differences as strengths to build resiliency. For those who did not make our last virtual program, Missy will review key information about anxiety and worry and take it a few steps further this time.
This one-week program helps adopted children build and strengthen resiliency through playful animation videos, mindfulness, movement & group support. Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Explore their strengths,
- Gain tools to build their resiliency,
- Connect with other adoptees in daily virtual workshops
