Event Description

This workshop will explore the importance of understanding and balancing ethical responsibilities.  An emphasis will be placed on exploring dual relationships and boundary issues to enhance service and reduce ethical violations. During this workshop participants will discuss common practice areas that give rise to ethical dilemmas within the context of the code of ethics.  Various ethical decision making models to resolve conflicts will be explored.  In addition, our presenter will explore the importance of self-care and the realities of compassion fatigue and burnout. Come prepared for an interactive and engaging training! 

Through the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Increase their knowledge of ethical responsibilities in direct service work. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of issues related to dual relationships and boundaries.
  • Explore the connection between self-care, compassion fatigue and burnout.
  • Articulate the key elements of balancing ethical responsibilities in relationships, leading to decreased ethical violations.
