Event Description

Session 4: “What happened to your real parents?”: Responding to tough questions

Transracially adopted children and teens are often asked to explain their adoption story or personal things about their life and identity to others. This can sometimes feel like a burden and lead to anxiety, stress, and humiliation.

In this session, parents will learn how to support their children through these difficult questions and how these questions might impact their child in surprising ways. Participants will engage in hands-on practice that is relevant to their own circumstances and families.
