More About This Event
As a Hague accredited licensed agency in DC, MD, and VA, we frequently assist families hoping to adopt from a country outside of the four programs that we run (India, China, South Korea, and Colombia). For families residing in DC, MD, or VA, we offer home study and post-placement services. We will assist the family in partnering with another agency who operates a program in the family’s country of choice. By attending this free information night, you will have a greater understanding of the process, parent requirements, and needs of the children waiting in each country. This is also a great space for you to meet Barker's international team, Emily Marshall, LICSW, LCSW-C, Barker's Director for International Programs. Katie Fischer, LICSW, LMSW, Barker's International Case Manager & Family Support Specialist, and Brooke Reed Barker's International Program Support Specialist, and ask them questions that may be unique for you and your family.
We have partnered with agencies across the U.S. to help families bring home their children from many countries. Families will have an opportunity during this event to hear from Holt International, Spence- Chapin, All God's Children International, and Wide Horizons, agencies Barker frequently partners with to match children with their forever families. Programs discussed will include China, South Korea, India, Colombia, Thailand, Vietnam, and South Africa.
