Happy New Year from PWNL! Often times, the start of a new year helps many families make that first phone call to an adoption agency. A resolution of adopting an older child from foster care and providing that child with love, safety and permanency.
Families are committed from day one but as we all known, this can be a challenging process. Families must be prepared for the unexpected, prepared for their new child or children to test them beyond limits.
This article demonstrates a committed family. A family that is committed to a child despite behaviors and challenges. I found this story to be very much in line with some of the challenges we see with kids being adopted through Project Wait No Longer. I am often asked what qualities does a family need to have when they are considering older child adoption and I believe the story of this family shows some of those important qualities.
