On Tuesday, November 4th dine out at Mark’s Kitchen in downtown Takoma Park, MD, at any time between noon and 9pm to support Project Wait No Longer. In honor of National Adoption Month, Mark’s Kitchen has generously agreed to donate 15% of the day’s sales to Project Wait No Longer (PWNL). Mark’s Kitchen offers a casual diner-like atmosphere, a diverse menu that will appeal to most everyone, and a great kid’s menu, too.
Your support of PWNL helps move children out of foster care and into safe, loving families. To date, PWNL has placed 70 former foster children from around the country – average age over 10 years old – with families in the DC-area. By dining out at Mark’s on November 4th, you help PWNL: recruit more parents who are passionate about adopting an older child from foster care; collaborate with more child welfare agencies and caseworkers around the country; provide essential post-adoption services to adoptive parents and their children, including home visits from clinical social workers, assistance securing ongoing therapy and counseling, access to appropriate educational and recreational opportunities; and, allow more of our country’s youth living in foster care to know the love of a family.
Members of the Barker staff and community will be there throughout the day. We hope to see you there! Please invite your friends and family!
