The purpose of the group is to provide a place where birth parents can talk about their experiences, and share their feelings and thoughts with others who have made the same decision. The Pre-Adoption Group one-day training is required for all prospective adoptive parents in our Domestic Infant and International programs, and is designed to help you think about both the rewards and the challenges of adoption and the life-long adoption issues that are involved.

Prospective Adoptive Parent Training for Prospective Parent International Adoption

This session is the 2nd part of the Pre-Adoption Training for all families adopting internationally. The training focuses on specific issues such as attachment, loss and grief, discipline, specialized resources, and other important topics – all from the perspective of what an internationally adopted child experiences and needs.

January 5 & 12 and February 2 & 9, 2019 (Attendance required at all four sessions) PRIDE Training specific to the adoption of older children from the foster care system. The curriculum covers trauma, grief & loss, attachment & bonding, development, communication, behavioral and emotional challenges, transracial and transcultural adoption, financial assistance, as well as the legal process.
