Honor/Memorial Gift

A donation to Barker is a meaningful way to honor someone special or give in memory of a loved one. A gift to The Barker Adoption Foundation is not only a thoughtful way to honor or remember others but also helps support ethical adoption services for all. Make a gift In Honor or In Memorial of a loved one today!

Many companies and organizations have a “matching gift program.” For every dollar you donate to Barker, the employer will also donate.  This is an easy way to double or triple the strength of your contribution.  Check with your HR department to find out more.

Make a Gift. Change a Life.

The Combined Federal Campaign is the workplace giving program of the United States’ federal government. Each fall, federal employees are invited to donate to a charity of their choice – and we hope that you will choose Barker! You can elect to have a specific monetary amount withdrawn from each paycheck or make a one-time donation. Donating through the CFC is a proven, effective, and efficient way to support Barker. Volunteers are at the heart of our mission.

Every day, volunteers help us find permanent, loving families for children by donating their time and talents – while simultaneously building their own new skills. Service and/or academic credits may be available for middle-school and high-school students. Unless otherwise specified, work location is Maryland, Virginia, and/or Washington, D.C.

The types of activities and events we often need volunteers to support may include, for example:

  • Communications mailings
  • Annual Adoption & Foster Care Conference
  • Guest bloggers for the Barker blog
  • Grant research
  • Photographers at Barker events
  • Fundraising events including Lunar New Year, 70th Anniversary Gala, “Barker Goes Nats!”
