Formed Families Forward is hosting a family fun day for all adoptive and foster families next Saturday, April 29th! Keynote Speaker, Dr. Bruce Thyer, will give a presentation on "What Really Works and Doesn't Work for Tough Kids" and families will have their choice of breakout sessions including a Q&A with Dr. Thyer and a presentation on "Cruising Through Conflict: How Kinship and Other Formed Families Can Keep the Peace". There will also be a teen breakout session, "Poetry in Motion: The Rap Connection".

A Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) diagnosis often times can give children in foster care a scary and misunderstood label. Often, adoptive parents aren't particularly sure what RAD is or exactly what it looks like. While it may not be the right choice for some families, adoptive parents should be aware of the realities and implications of RAD before making a decision.
