Introducing: Barker's Parenting Older Child Workshop Series
In this 4-week series, we will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of older child adoption. Each week will highlight a different theme and provide opportunity for learning and Q&A from our experts.
Week 1: April 2, Transitioning Home—expectations around, and how to navigate transitioning to a permanent home.
Week 2: April 9, All About Attachment—tools and strategies to foster healthy attachments.
Week 3: April 16, Culture—how to integrate and celebrate your child’s culture.
Week 4: April 23, Panel—hear from older children who have found their permanent home and their experiences.

This program is open to parents of older children, prospective adoptive parents considering older child adoption, waiting parents, and family members/caretakers in the lives of anyone listed who would benefit to better understanding strategies for growth

This series will provide valuable tools, resources, and connections to those experiencing parenting older children. Experts will be able to highlight the unique challenges and opportunities in creating a family through older child adoption and how to provide the utmost dignity and respect to their child
